Coastal Outdoors — Shipping Policy
Effective Date: May 2025
At Coastal Outdoors, we’re committed to fast, reliable shipping and clear communication. Please review the policy below before placing your order.
1) Shipping Methods & Carriers
- We ship via UPS, USPS, and FedEx based on item type, weight, destination, and cost.
- Standard and Expedited options are offered at checkout where available.
- Some oversized or heavy items (coolers, large tents, treestands) may ship ground only or via freight.
2) Processing Times
- Processing Time: Usually 1–3 business days (Mon–Fri, excluding holidays).
- Orders placed after the daily cutoff may start processing the next business day.
- Orders with backordered or pre-order items ship when all items are available (see Section 9).
3) Delivery Timeframes
- Delivery speed depends on the service you choose at checkout and your location.
- Tracking information is emailed as soon as your order ships.
- Weather events and carrier delays may impact delivery times.
4) Shipping Costs
- Rates are calculated at checkout based on weight, size, destination, and carrier rates.
- Expedited shipping is available on eligible items for an added cost.
- Promotional free shipping thresholds (if offered) apply to standard shipping within the contiguous U.S. only unless otherwise noted.
5) Address Accuracy & Changes
- Please verify your shipping address at checkout.
- We can attempt an address correction before shipment; after shipment, changes are subject to carrier policies and may incur fees.
- Orders returned due to an incorrect or undeliverable address may incur reship charges.
6) PO Boxes, APO/FPO, & Freight
- PO Boxes: USPS only (eligible items). Large/oversize items cannot ship to PO Boxes.
- APO/FPO: USPS only; some items restricted by size/contents.
- Freight / Oversize: Large items may require curbside delivery; the carrier will contact you to schedule delivery.
7) Shipping Restrictions (Safety, State, & Carrier Rules)
Certain products have restrictions due to safety or local laws:
- Hazmat / pressurized items: fuel canisters, stove fuel, bear spray/OC, CO₂ cartridges—may ship ground only and cannot ship by air or internationally.
- Blades & sharp items: knives, broadheads—buyer must be 18+; some local restrictions apply.
- Treestands, climbing, and safety gear: may require adult signature and cannot ship internationally.
You are responsible for knowing and following your local/state laws. If an order cannot be shipped due to restrictions, we will notify you and issue a refund for the affected items.
8) Signature & Insurance
- Orders over a certain value may require a signature upon delivery for security.
- Packages are insured through the carrier; claims must be filed promptly if lost or damaged (see Section 10).
9) Backorders & Pre-Orders
- Backorders: We’ll ship as soon as stock arrives. You may cancel unshipped backorders for a full refund.
- Pre-Orders: You may cancel before shipment for a full refund. Once shipped, standard return policy applies.
- If your order contains both in-stock and backordered items, we may split-ship at our discretion or ship when all items are available (you’ll see this at checkout).
10) Lost, Delayed, or Damaged Shipments
- Lost/No Scan: If tracking hasn’t updated for several days, contact us and we’ll open an inquiry with the carrier.
- Delivered but not received: First, check with household members and neighbors and look for a delivery slip. If still missing, contact us within 3 business days of the “delivered” scan so we can assist with a carrier trace.
- Damaged in transit: Keep all packaging and contents and contact us within 7 days with photos. We’ll help file a claim and arrange a replacement or refund as appropriate.
11) International Shipping
- At this time, Coastal Outdoors ships to U.S. addresses only (including APO/FPO for eligible items). We’re exploring international options for the future.
12) Order Cancellations
- You may cancel before shipment for a full refund.
- Once shipped, the order falls under our Returns & Refunds policy.
13) Drop-Ship Items
- Some items ship directly from the manufacturer/distributor to you (drop-ship).
- Tracking may appear from a third-party warehouse and can arrive in separate packages.
14) Holiday & Peak Season Notes
- High-volume periods (Black Friday/Cyber Monday, holidays) may add 1–2 business days to processing and carriers may experience delays. We recommend ordering early.
