Coastal Outdoors — Returns & Refunds Policy
Effective Date: May 2025
At Coastal Outdoors, your satisfaction is our priority. Please review the policy below before making a purchase. It explains how returns, refunds, exchanges, warranties, cancellations, and backorders are handled.
1) Return Window & Condition
- Standard returns: Within 30 days of delivery.
- Items must be unused, unworn, and undamaged, in original packaging with all tags, manuals, and accessories included.
- Please do not return items dirty, wet, smoke-exposed, or showing signs of field use. These may be denied or incur a restocking fee.
2) How to Start a Return
- Email support@coastal-outdoors.store with your order number, item(s), and reason for return.
- We’ll reply with a Return Authorization (RA) and instructions.
- Pack items securely. We recommend a trackable shipping method.
- Once received and inspected, we’ll email the outcome.
Return shipping: Customer is responsible unless the return is due to our error (damaged/incorrect item).
3) Exchanges
- Fastest method: place a new order for the correct item/size and return the original for a refund.
- Size exchanges for apparel/footwear are accepted if unworn with original tags/box.
4) Refunds & Restocking
- Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–7 business days of inspection.
- Shipping charges (both ways) are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.
- A 10% restocking fee may apply for items missing packaging, tags, or accessories, or showing signs of handling beyond inspection.
5) Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
- Inspect your order upon arrival. If something is damaged, defective, or incorrect, contact support@coastal-outdoors.store within 7 days of delivery with photos of the issue and packaging.
- We’ll repair, replace, or refund as appropriate. Keep all packaging until we advise next steps.
6) Non-Returnable Items (for safety, hygiene, or regulatory reasons)
- Consumables & hygiene items: water filters after use, first-aid supplies once opened, mouth/elk calls, hydration bladders once used.
- Food & fuel: all camp food, stoves with fuel residue, fuel canisters, bear spray/OC, and other hazardous materials.
- Cut/installed goods: rope/cordage cut to length, fishing line once spooled, custom arrow builds/cut shafts.
- Software/digital downloads, gift cards, final sale/clearance items marked “non-returnable.”
- Safety gear (e.g., climbing hardgoods, fall-arrest, treestands) if opened/used.
- Underwear/baselayers/socks if tried on/removed from sealed packaging.
7) Category-Specific Notes
- Archery: bows/crossbows/arrows must be unfired/uncut and in factory condition. Custom tuning, string installs, or cut arrows are non-returnable.
- Fishing: reels must be unspooled; used lures, opened terminal tackle, or bait are non-returnable.
- Apparel/Footwear: try on indoors; no trail wear. Include original box/bag and all tags.
- Electronics/Optics: must include all accessories, cables, manuals, lens caps, and registration cards.
8) Warranties
- Most products include a manufacturer warranty. If an item fails within the warranty period, we’ll help you contact the manufacturer for repair/replacement.
- Warranty decisions are made by the manufacturer. Keep your order confirmation as proof of purchase.
- We do not perform in-house repairs unless explicitly stated on the product page.
9) Pre-Orders & Backorders
- Pre-orders: Cancel any time before shipment for a full refund. Once shipped, standard return terms apply.
- Backorders: Ship as soon as stock arrives; you may cancel prior to fulfillment for a full refund.
- We may cancel pre-orders/backorders due to availability, discontinuation, or pricing errors.
10) Cancellations
- Orders can be cancelled for a full refund before shipment.
- Once shipped, the order falls under the return policy above.
- To cancel, email support@coastal-outdoors.store with your order number.
11) Rewards, Discounts & Gifts
- Items purchased with discounts or rewards are eligible for return under standard terms.
- If a refunded order earned points, those points may be reversed; redeemed rewards are not reinstated.
- Gift cards are final sale and not redeemable for cash.
12) Fraud & Abuse Prevention
- We reserve the right to limit or deny returns in cases of excessive wear, missing parts, repeated high-volume returns, or suspected misuse.
